In the summer of 2020 I transition jobs. with my new job I am able to spend a lot of time listening to music and audio books. I started logging them to see how many I could read.
In the year 2021 I wanted to grow the list and add more detail. I shoot for a total of 50 books and started rating some books.
In the year 2022 I decided create this site and make all the books I read public on this site. Going forward they will all have some brief thoughts and summaries about the book some may be more detailed than others. Some may have a rating if I really really enjoyed it or possibly if I despised it.
The few rules I have…
- Reading and or Audiobooks both count.
- I do not have a limit on how big or small a book can be other than it needs to be longer than an article.
- I enjoy all genres of books. Some books are books I enjoyed when I was in school so there is some young adult books listed. I still count them.
- If the same book is read multiple times in one year it can only be officially counted once. Each time after that it is counted as a half number. (example if it is read again it may be counted as 22.5 book for the year. If it is ready again it could be 25.5. It will never total a whole book if read more than once in a year.
- If a book is reread again in a future year it can count as a full book.
- Other than that enjoy reading! Follow along if you want! Or not. I just like reading so let me live my life.

2. 2/2 Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon. After enjoying Show your Work I decided to read the prequel Steal Like an artist. This book discuss the concept of brainstorm. One thing that stuck with me is the book says there are no original thoughts but a combination of thoughts and ideas. You are the sum of everything you have ever learned.
1. 1/27 Show your work by Austin Kleon. This book was unexpectedly excellent! It breaks down the concept of self promotion and how self promotion is less flaunting yourself and more recording and sharing your ideas. I will defiantly be reading again in the future!
