Items that can tell a story

I have always had a great fondness about items that can tell a story. Not a piece of junk but a object that has been cared for for years. The item has had a purpose and the owner had a passion for caring for it. A worn out leather jacket, a pair of boots that keeps getting repaired, a car that has been tinkered on for the past 40 years.

The object starts to develop a personality of its own.

It’s can be fun to spot one in the wild. The 1970 motorcycle that has had the paint rubbed of the gas tank because it has been rode so much the past 50 years, the wallet that has formed around the cards stored inside, the Bible that has the pages worn thin.

It’s as if the item has defied time. It has if it has created new value. From new to used to worn out to repaired to second life to artifact. It has story’s to tell. It is the suit case that has been to every county. It’s not an item you stick on the shelf for the rest of its life. It is used daily. To benefit its user. And in return they cherish it.
